Compress image to 100 KB (JPG for forms and portals)
Get a photo of a certificate, mark sheet, ID card or declaration under 100 KB for an online portal. The whole page stays in the picture, and the file never leaves your device.
How to compress an image to 100 KB
- Photograph the document flat, in good light, and crop it to the edges of the paper.
- Tap Choose an image and pick the photo.
- Keep 100 KB selected and tick Black and white for printed documents.
- Check that the text is readable, then tap Download JPG.
What usually has to be under 100 KB
Handwritten declarations on many recruitment forms (IBPS-style forms ask for 50 to 100 KB), and certificates or ID proofs that admission, scholarship and job portals ask for as JPG. Check the exact limit in the official notification or on the portal.
If the portal wants a PDF instead, use JPG to PDF, which keeps the PDF under the limit too. If your document is already a PDF and the portal wants a JPG, use PDF to JPG.
If the text isn't readable
- Black and white keeps text sharper at the same size.
- Crop to the paper. A table or floor around the document wastes space.
- Take the photo straight from above, without shadows, so the paper comes out evenly white.
- If the portal allows it, choose a larger limit, such as 200 KB.
Frequently asked questions
Is my document uploaded?
No. It is compressed in your browser and never sent to dedigger or anyone else. dedigger only counts which limit was chosen.
Can I compress several documents at once?
One at a time: choose the next image when the first one is downloaded. To put several pages in one file, use JPG to PDF.
Why is the file a little under 100 KB?
It stays under 100 KB whether a site counts a kilobyte as 1,000 or 1,024 bytes.
