A search engine for public Google Drive files

Google Drive's own search box only looks through your files and the ones shared with you. dedigger searches the rest: files whose owners set them to "Anyone with the link" and that Google has indexed, such as PDFs, Word and Excel documents, presentations, spreadsheets and datasets.

How to search public Google Drive files

  1. Type a few keywords in the search box, as you would on Google: marketing plan.
  2. Use the PDF or Docs/Sheets filter to keep only those file types.
  3. Put a phrase in quotes for an exact match: "annual report".
  4. Leave out a word with a minus sign, budget -wedding, or accept either of two words with OR, resume OR cv.
  5. Choose Newest to favour files from the last 12 months.

Frequently asked questions

Is dedigger free?

Yes. There is nothing to install and no account to create.

Why can't I find a file I know exists?

dedigger only shows files that are public and that Google has indexed. Files shared with specific people, files inside restricted folders and very recent uploads do not appear.

Does dedigger host or check these files?

No. Every result lives on Google Drive and belongs to whoever shared it. Check a file before you download it and respect its owner's rights. See the disclaimer.

Can my own files show up here?

Only if you shared them publicly and their link was posted somewhere search engines can see it. Public vs private cloud storage explains how to check what you share.
